Standards and policies
The rules behind the reporting and membership.
Effective August 1, 2026. These terms apply to Black Current reporting and the paid Black Current Membership.
Sourcing
Primary records lead.
Central factual claims should be supported by public filings, official records, contracts, court documents, direct statements, or other attributable evidence. Secondary reporting may supply context but should not replace an available primary source.
Published investigations retain the evidence needed to evaluate their central claims. Direct source links identify the relevant page or section whenever possible.
Corrections
Material errors are corrected visibly.
Corrections identify what was wrong, what changed, and when. Current investigations preserve material revisions instead of silently replacing earlier conclusions.
Correction requests may be sent to theblackcurrentmedia@gmail.com.
Conflicts and trading
Reporting cannot be written to manufacture a trade.
Black Current reporting will not be timed, framed, withheld, or selected to support a trade recommendation. Relevant financial interests must be disclosed. Unpublished research must not be used for personal trading or shared to facilitate a trade before publication.
Privacy
Collect only what the service needs.
Stripe processes checkout and payment details and provides Black Current with account contact information, subscription status, and transaction identifiers.
Black Current and its email service providers use this information to deliver investigations, weekly briefings, and material updates; manage subscriptions; prevent abuse; support customers; and meet accounting or legal obligations. Black Current does not sell personal information as a standalone mailing list.
Members can unsubscribe from editorial emails or request removal. Requests to access, correct, or delete personal information may be sent to theblackcurrentmedia@gmail.com. Transaction and fraud-prevention records may be retained when required for legitimate business or legal purposes.
Membership terms
$59 monthly until canceled.
Black Current Membership costs $59 per month. Stripe charges the first payment at checkout and automatically renews the subscription each month until canceled. There is no trial. The membership is personal and paid material may not be shared, copied, resold, or redistributed.
During an active membership, members receive one original investigation each week, the weekly member briefing, and material updates to ongoing investigations. Each investigation includes the finished story, evidence timeline, relationship or money map, primary-source links with relevant page references, the strongest counterargument, and unresolved questions. Delivery is sent to the email address used for checkout.
Cancel before the next renewal through the secure Stripe billing portal to stop future charges. Membership continues through the current paid period and ends after that period unless renewed.
Refunds
Digital delivery begins after purchase.
Payments are generally nonrefundable once paid material is delivered, except for duplicate or erroneous charges or when applicable law requires otherwise. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not automatically refund the current paid period.
Report a duplicate or erroneous charge to theblackcurrentmedia@gmail.com within seven days so it can be reviewed.
